Owners of the HTC EVO Shift 4G will be getting an update to Android 2.3 Gingerbread over-the-air (OTA) beginning Monday, June 20, and will be rolled out in waves.
Gingerbread features include download management, better on-screen keyboard with multi-touch/auto-correction, improved cut/paste, icons, app groups, updated
calendar options, camera geotagging, improved email synching, and camera
auto-focus improvements.
The new software version for the HTC EVO Shift 4G is Android 2.3 - 2.75.651.4.
Along with Android 2.3 features, the update fixes the device's ability to
stream media through certain applications and allows SWYPE text-entry
capabilities for HTC EVO Shift 4G.
Starting today, HTC EVO Shift 4G owners can access the update - from the home
screen/Menu/Settings/System Updates/HTC software update. This will start the upgrade process. Be sure that your HTC EVO Shift 4G is at least 40% charged and back up your data first.
The HTC EVO 4G is also going to get an update to fix the Netflix issue.
