iPad 2's Returned to Sender & Recalled but Plenty Available for Father's Day

iPad2Fathersday.JPGiPad 2 tablets are reportedly getting lost in FedEx shipping and are being returned to stores due to duplicate MEID's causing activation problems.

Buyers of the iPad 2 for Father's Day have no need to worry.  We called our local Apple Store and were told that only a few of the Verizon iPad 2 tablets were affected and that they had plenty available for Father's Day.  If you buy an iPad 2 now, you should be fine.

It has also been reported that Apple employees are now scanning for certain Verizon iPad 2 serial numbers that they must return to Apple.
iPad 2 customers who ordered the iiPad 2 received notices
from FedEx that Apple requested the iPad2 to be sent back to Apple prior
to delivery.  Customers reported that their tracking numbers were
undeliverable.  FedEx customer service reps said the the packages were
flagged "return to sender."

Apple support has told some customers that their iPad 2 tablets were recalled.  Then Apple began issuing a $50 credit or accessory to customers who didn't receive their iPad 2 tablets.
