Alex Colon at PCMag rated the LG Revolution 3.5 out of 5 for its 4G LTE speed, nice, bright touchscreen and Netflix. He didn't like the mediocre call quality, Bing as default map/search, and below average camera. The screen lacks the deep colors of the Samsung Droid Charge. Text and phone number input was easy. Data speeds averaged 12Mbps down and 4Mbps up. Battery life wasn't great at about 6 hours, which is better than the HTC ThunderBolt but only lasted 3 hours using 4G LTE. It has the same processor as the the ThunderBolt. Video at 720p played smoothly. The HDMI port worked well.
Nicole Lee at CNET rated the LG Revolution 3.5 out of 5 for its great touchscreen, 4G LTE speed, double cameras, HDMI, DLNA, 720p video recording and Netflix. She didn't like Bing, non-removable Verizon apps, mediocre call quality, lackluster battery life and high price. It feels hefty and like a brick in your hands. It ships with LG's Touch Widget and Friends Widget. Data speeds were up to 12Mbps down and upload speeds of 5Mbps. The camera took pretty good photos, and the camcorder was great.
Mark Spoonauer at Laptop rated the LG Revolution 3.5 out of 5 for its brighter touchscrreen, 4G LTE speeds, Dolby sound, and Netflix. He didn't like Bing, the port covers, or battery life. He thought it was heavy and plain looking. He found it the easiest to read in direct sunlight out of all Verizon 4G LTE smartphones. Sound quality from the speaker was loud and clear. The on-screen keyboard was nice and large. It doesn't support Google Voice actions, which disables voice search for text, navigation and playing a song. Netflix streamed to TV but lost quality. The processor was snappy but lagged while scrolling through home screen. Benchmark tests (2,211) were higher than the ThunderBolt (2,103) and Charge (1,569). It averaged 9.1Mbps downloads and 3.5Mbps upload. Photo and video quality were good. The call quality was clear, but one caller complained of background noise. The battery lasted 5 hours 15 minutes running 4G. He prefers the Charge for lighter design and better battery life. He liked the ThunderBolt's HTC Sense better.
