Sony Ericsson, in its blog, confirmed that the Sony Xperia X10 will be getting an update to Gingerbread 2.3 with most features except for DLNA support.
The update will keep the original camera UI as in the Éclair version.
The UI with the desktop layout and
pinch-to-overview gesture will be similar to the Sony Xperia Arc. It includes Gingerbread features like
Wi-Fi & USB tethering and pp storage on an SD card.
The customizable horizontal app tray and the media experience widgets
from the 2011 Xperia Products are included, such as the
integrated equalizer in the music player.
Apps that
require Android versions 2.2 or 2.3 will now be possible to download
from Android Market, including Adobe Flash.
The release date of the update will reportedly be in August.
