Verizon Wireless will change its new data plans as well as its 4G LTE footprint, adding and expanding markets in July.
Verizon confirmed that it will end its unlimited data plans for new customers in July after the web was awash with rumors. Verizon Spokeswoman Brenda Raney told the media that the new plans would launch in July.
4G LTE users who have the choice of the Verizon Awesome 4G-Threesome (LG Revolution, Samsung Droid Charge, or HTC ThunderBolt) will be able to experience high-speed data in more areas starting July 21.
Meanwhile, Verizon has announced 21 new 4G LTE markets starting July 21 that include:
- Huntsville, AL.
- Augusta, GA.
- Olympia WA.
- Tacoma, WA.
- Scranton
Wilkes-Barre, PA. - Springfield, MA
- Raleigh-Durham,
Greensboro-Winston, and Salem-High Point, NC. - Toledo, OH.
- Carbondale and Marion, IL.
- Knoxville, TN.
- Maui & Honolulu, HI.
The LTE network in
the Los Angeles, Las Vegas and San Diego markets will be expanded on July 21.
- In the Los Angeles area 4G LTE will expand from Pomona to Ontario, north to Rancho Cucamonga and Fontana, and will stretch south to Corona.
- Within San Diego county new 4G LTE coverage will range north from Del Mar to Solana Beach, and north from Poway to Escondido.
- Las Vegas area new coverage expanded to North Las Vegas, Henderson and in southwest Las Vegas.
