Verizon has had trouble setting solid release dates for its latest 4G LTE smartphones, the HTC Thunderbolt was delayed for months and the Droid Bionic was supposed to originally be released in the spring. Some rumors suggested an August 4 release date and now the current rumors suggest a September 1, release date.
Update 7/28 3:00pm: Motorola CEO Sanjay Jha told CNET that the Droid Bionic will be launched in September. The delay was due to 4G LTE connectivity issues.
There has been a leaked photo of the Droid Bionic which shows it to have a 4.3" touchscreen, the same as the Droid 3 and Droid X2(which is getting an update to Android 2.3 Gingerbread today).
We believe the specs will match the Motorola Photon closely. There was a photo of a Verizon display for a new Droid smartphone and dock accessories posted on Amazon.com that appeared last Friday.
