Verizon Wireless Droid fans who want a big, roomy keyboard and a dual-core processor can buy a Motorola Droid 3 online today and in stores on July 14. The Droid 3 is a dual-mode, world smartphone with data through Verizon's 3G network.
Droid 3 features include a dual-core processor, 4" 960 x 540 qHD touchscreen, an 8MP
camera (1080p video capture), a 5-row QWERTY keyboard, HDMI-out port, a front-facing
camera, Android 2.3 Gingerbread, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, MotoBlur, GPS, 16GB of storage on board, mobile hotspots (up to 5), and a
microSD card slot.
There is an HDMI mirroring feature for playing HD content on an HD TV.
The Droid 3 also can be used with a dock. Its smart dock
feature remembers the last dock settings. There is a special
voice-recognition key on the keyboard for voice search and voice
command.
The Droid 3 costs $199 from Verizon Wireless
with a new contract in which you have to choose a usage-based data
plan. There are many ways to reduce data costs by using less data.
The Droid 3 appears in our sneak peek Dare 2 Compare of the dynamic dual-core smartphones of summer.
