Spotify streaming music service, for mobile smartphones and computers, has launched in the United States with Motorola as an exclusive partner.

Update 07/15/11 - Motorola is giving away free pre-release invites to Spotify.

Spotify
is available via both a desktop application and mobile app, which allows
Spotify Premium subscribers on-the-go to listen to music on devices, including
Motorola's latest Android-based smartphones.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported this morning, "Spotify will let you listen to anything in its library of 15 million songs, as many times as you want, for as long as you want, for six whole months."

Spotify is an award-winning digital music service that gives users on-demand access to one of the world's biggest music libraries, wherever they are.

Motorola believes that collaboration on music solutions for mobile devices with innovative partners, such as Spotify, can result in new, compelling choices for consumers, allowing them to explore and share new music wherever they are.

Currently, if you want a free version of Spotify, you have to wait for an invitation.  The Motorola deal may make it easier for Motorola Droid Bionic or Motorola Photon 4G owners to get Spotify sooner or with special offers.

We have a call out to Motorola to find out when Spotify will appear on Motorola smartphones.  For this kind of service, you'll probably want to make sure that you have an unlimited data plan.
