The Android phone called the HTC Status (formerly known as the HTC ChaCha) has total Facebook integration and is available for preorder today from AT&T and in stores on July 17.  It is priced at $49.99 with a two-year contract - just in time for back-to-school shopping.  The pricing indicates that the HTC Status will not be a status symbol but will be a cheap, affordable phone for teens.

The HTC Status has a dedicated Facebook status button that instantly posts messages to Facebook walls, video/photo for check-ins to Places and instant sharing of music listening.

Facebook content and information is integrated in the clock, dialer, calendar, address book and photo gallery.

The HTC Status also features a Facebook chat application that lets you maintain your chat conversations while doing other tasks on the phone.

The HTC Status has a 2.6-inch (480 x 320) touchscreen, GPS. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, memory expandable up to 32GB via a microSD slot, and a unique tilt design and QWERTY keyboard.  It features dual cameras, including a 5-megapixel color camera with autofocus, LED flash, and a VGA front-facing camera.

HTC Sense is preloaded with a customizable lock screen, photo special effects and smart ringer (read HTC Sense 3.0 tips).  Data or messaging rates apply.  Minimum $15 data plan is required.
