Moto News: Motorola Photon 4G 7/31 Release Date, Sprint Premiers 7/29

Motorola-Photon-380x308.jpgSprint officially announced that the Motorola Photon 4G will go one sale July 31 and three days earlier for Sprint Premiere members - online for $199.99 with a two-year contract.

The Motorola Photon 4G has a dual-core 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor and Android 2.3 Gingerbread.  It will be the second dual-core processor smartphone on Sprint, after the HTC EVO 3D that came out in June.

The Motorola Photon 4G is a world phone with GSM capabilities, a 4.3-inch qHD touchscreen, dual cameras and a kickstand.  Other
features include Enterprise security, HDMI connectivity, 16GB storage
on board, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, hotspots, kickstand and a 1700mAh battery.
Like the Motorla Atrix, it
supports a media dock.  The webtop app lets users view the web in a
Firefox browser on an HD TV.

When the Motorola Photon 4G was first announced, PR reps confirmed that it would have an unlocked bootlaoder.

Sprint
is the only carrier that still offers unlimited data plans.  However,
there is an additional $10 a month for 4G WiMAX access.
