Verizon began taking preorders for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 in late June, and it will be compatible with the 4G LTE network with the use of a microSIM card. When the presale was launched, Verizon said that it expected the tablet to ship in 4-6 weeks.
Recently, we also saw a 4G LTE module go through the FCC for the Motorola Xoom.
microSIM (3FF) function is the same as the 4G SIM (2FF) found in the Samsung Droid Charge HTC ThunderBolt and maybe the Droid Bionic, but they are a different size.
Samsung's new GALAXY Tab 10.1 is the thinnest
and lightest large screen mobile tablet, with 4G LTE connectivity, full
multimedia entertainment, and customized user interface.
The 4G LTE Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 will ship with Android 3.1, and we hope that it will be updated shortly to Android Honeycomb 3.2.(which the Motorola Xoom is expected to receive soon).
The Motorola Xoom, however, may beat the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 to the 4G LTE punch depending on the release date of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.
Verizon is running a three-day sale for a $69.99 original Samsung Galaxy Tab 7" (Certified Pre-Owned) and $399.99 Motorola Xoom (Certified Pre-Owned). It may indicate the coming of the next Galaxy Tab, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.
The ability to use the super fast Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network may lure tablet users away from the 3G iPad 2.
