Reviews all agreed that the 4G LTE data speed was the most compelling reason to buy the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.  Reviewers also liked its thinness, light weight and called it the best Honeycomb tablet around.  A reviewer noted that in the long run data plans with Verizon are cheaper than AT&T 3G data plans.

There have not been many reviews published so far.  Therefore we had to take a look at the first-looks, unboxings and reviews of the Wi-Fi version.

  • Zach Epstein at BGR found the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 to be ridiculously fast, just like being connected to a Wi-Fi network.  Data speeds ranged about 12-15Mbps down and 3-5Mbps up.
  • K.T. Bradford at Laptopmag noted that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is just as thin as the iPad to and weighs less. Its more portable design, great display, loud speakers, and strong endurance make it among their favorite Honeycomb tablets.
  • Tony Bradley at PC World noted that the 4G LTE access on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is a big winner and looks awesome.  It costs $100 less than the iPad 2 with 3G access as well as Verizon data plans are $5 less per month. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 offers Flash viewing of webpages.
  • Eric Franklin at CNET noted that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Wi-Fi version is the sexiest honeycomb table but lacks ports.
  • Jared Newman at Time thought that because the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 requires a commitment to a data plan unlike the iPad 2 on  AT&T, that the price should have been discounted more.
