This summer is turning into a dynamic dual-core smartphone release-date extravaganza, with the top best smartphones expected to be released in the last weeks of July and in August. There are so many rumors and expected releases that we had to make a spreadsheet to keep track of them.
So far, all of the following dual-core Android smartphones have been announced to have summer release dates. To help you decide when to buy and if you should wait, we've made a Dare 2 Compare chart and have also included rumored release dates, announced release dates and unique features:
- myTouch 4G Slide (T-Mobile) - on presale now, announced release date July 27. Distinguishing features are super camera and slide-out QWERTY keyboard.
- Motorola Photon (Sprint) - announced release date July 31. Distinguishing features are dual-core processor and kickstand.
- Droid Bionic (Verizon) - announced release date is summer. Rumors suggest an August 4 release date. Distinguishing features are dual-core processor, 4.5" touchscreen and 4G LTE access.
- LG Thrill 4G (AT&T) - announced release date is summer. Leaked documents showed a July release date. Distinguishing features are glasses-free 3D viewing and games.
- Samsung Galaxy S II (Within, Attain, Function/Sprint, AT&T, Verizon) - announced release date is August. Distinguishing features are Super AMOLED touchscreen and possible 4G LTE access.
