Samsung and Verizon, announced that the official release date for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet will be this Thursday, July 28. As an added bonus buyers will get a free $25 Media
Hub credit from Samsung towards TV program purchases.
The Verizon Wireless Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 has 4G LTE connectivity, a
10.1-inch HD touchscreen WXGA (1280 x 800), a 3MP rear
camera, a 2MP front camera, Nvidia Tegra 1GHz dual-core processor,
Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HDMI out port, DLNA, a 7000mAh battery and enterprise
encryption.
The Verizon news release states that 4G LTE customers can expect download speeds of 5 to 12 Mbps and upload
speeds of 2 to 5 Mbps in 4G LTE coverage areas.
Other features of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 are:
- Support of many USB accessories, such as keyboards, joysticks
and gamepads. - Social Hub service aggregates
email, instant messaging, contacts, calendar, and social network
connections into a single interface. - Samsung Media Hub allows users to rent/view movies and includes an
HD Extender to play back Media Hub content on a TV through an HDMI
cable from the Galaxy Tab 10.1 dock or adapter. - Samsung's Readers Hub offers books, newspapers and magazines.
- The Samsung TouchWiz UX has a Live Panel menu for customizing the home screen and "Mini Apps tray.
Verizon Wireless offers two 4G LTE Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 models
both priced with two-year contract at $529.99 for the 16GB
model and $629.99 for the 32GB model.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 customers will have the option to choose one of the following mobile broadband data plans:
- $30 monthly access for 2GB monthly allowance.
- $50 monthly access for 5GB monthly allowance.
- $80 monthly access for 10GB monthly allowance.
- A 16GB Wi-Fi-only Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 will also be available online at n July 28 for $499.99. The Wi-Fi-only model will be available in Metallic Grey.
