If you were wondering what will be the first HSPA+ smartphone in the United States, it could be the T-Mobile BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900 with an August 3l release date. The RIM BlackBerry website now has a sign-up webpage to get information about releases of the BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900 smartphone.
A leaked screenshot shows the BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900with an August 31 release date and a $50 mail-in rebate. Buyers will have to purchase a $20 per month data plan from T-Mobile.
Features of the BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900 include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 1.2GHz processor, GPS, NFC (Near
Field Communications), microSD slot, 5MP camera, 768MB of RAM, 8GB
onboard memory, and a 1230mAh battery. It runs BlackBerry OS 7. BlackBerry search will be provided by Bing from MIcrosoft.
Yesterday, rumors suggested that the Samsung Hercules would be the first T-Mobile HSPA+ speeds of as fast as 42Mbps down for data. Even a BlackBerry with lower specs than the Hercules with such fast data speeds is impressive and worthwhile.
T-Mobile has recently reduced the price of the BlackBerry Bold 9780 to free with a special web-only deal. The usual T-Mobile price for a BlackBerry at launch is $149-$199.
