There have been reports that Droid X owners are getting a new update that fixes problems with Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
Apparently the update is available by checking for updates from the Droid X. We checked the Droid X update page and it has not changed since the original Android 2.3 Gingerbread update.
Sometimes Verizon Wireless sends out updates to a small amount of customers first and then rolls the rest out over time.
You can check for the update from the Home screen, tap the Menu Key > tap Settings > About phone > System updates > Download.
There were some problems with the previous Droid X update that this upgrade corrects.
when the original update was pushed out the Verizon twitter support site posted this message "Software update is being pushed out in batches to Droid X owners as
soon as possible. Eventually, all devices will be updated."
