Samsung Galaxy News: Samsung Galaxy S II August 29 Release Date Reveal Event Before iPhone

Members of the press and bloggers have received invitations to an event in New York on Monday, August 29 over a week before the suspected iPhone 5 unveiling on September 7.

The way Samsung events usually work is the smartphones are available to the press and can go on sale within a few days.

The Samsung Galaxy S II has been extremely popular in the rest of the world.  Leaks have suggested that the Samsung Galaxy S II would be named the Samsung Galaxy S II Epic Touch 4G from Sprint, loaded with WiMAX and push-to-talk.  Verizon Wireless may offer the 4G LTE Samsung Stratosphere with an  September 9 release date.  Earlier reports based on trademark filings suggested that the Samsung Galaxy S II from Verizon would be named the Samsung Function.

T-Mobile's Samsung Galaxy S II smartphone may be the Samsung Hercules with a 4.5" Super AMOLED touchscreen and and HSPA+ speeds of as fast as 42Mbps down with a September 21, release date.

There is also a photo of a QWERTY slider Samsung Galaxy S II look-alike that some thought was the Samsung Galaxy SII for AT&T the Samsung Attain.

Reviewers of the Samsung Galaxy S II are calling it the
iPhone rival and giving it Editor's Choice Awards.  In other countries,  the model is outselling the iPhone. and depending on
what kind of data access the carriers choose, the Samsung Galaxy S II
you may have faster data access then the iPhone 5.
