The HP TouchPad blow-out sale made it one of the hottest tablets around. A full featured tablet priced at $99 sent bargain hunters out in droves scouring the internet and retail stores for TouchPads.
More TouchPads should arrive in a few weeks, there is an only-one-per customer rule and more HP TouchPads will made during 2011 Q4.
Those who signed up for email notifications should be receiving one today. The HP Twitter page notes " #TouchPads will be coming back for one last encore."
Unfortunately, there no longer is an email sign-up page to get notified of HP TouchPad sales. The TouchPad webpage sends customers to a blog post.
HP PC's business excexecutive VP Todd Bradely told Reuters, that HP could resurrect the TouchPad and noted that the tablet computing segment is "relevant, absolutely. HP recently announced that it could spin off its PC business.
"A standalone company could and will do what's most required to drive value for shareholders and partners," Bradley said.
Meanwhile, back in China , there are a lot of 7" HP TouchPad parts that were ordered from suppliers. DigiTimes reported that there are enough TouchPad parts make 100,000 7" TouchPad. HP is in the process of negotiating with the suppliers.
So the question remains, how can the bargain hunters get a cheap TouchPad?
HP has updated its website about the HP TouchPad. It does look promising. "We are unfortunately sold out at this time, however a limited supply of
units will be made available in the coming weeks and months."
Fast Company reported that the HP TouchPad could be the second best-selling tablet of all time. HP's TouchPad order was estimated to be between 500,000 to one million TouchPads, which could mean more are coming at bargain prices.
