A leaked Verizon poster shows the BlackBerry Torch 9850 next to the Sony Xperia Play.
The BlackBerry Torch has not been announced yet from Verizon, but has already been announced for AT&T, Sprint and U.S. Cellular. Prices on other carriers range from $149 -$199 after rebates. Verzion pricing should be inline with the other carriers.
Although, BlackBerry has been losing market share, it is still very popular with enterprise users and the president of the United States, Barack BlackBerry Obama.
The BlackBerry Torch 9850 has a 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen, trackpad, a 1.2GHz processor, 5MP camera, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, microSD, digital compass and 4GB of onboard storage.
Software and features supported include:
- BlackBerry service with access to up to 10 supported business and
personal email accounts, plus BlackBerry Enterprise Server support for
corporate email installations. - DataViz Docs To Go Premium suite preloaded, for editing Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint files from anywhere.
- Augmented Reality using the built-in compass (magnetometer) to support augmented reality applications.
BlackBerry 7 integrates BlackBerry Balance, which
separates personal content from corporate content, giving users the
freedom and flexibility to use the smartphone for personal email,
Facebook, Twitter, multimedia, games and other
apps, while satisfying the need for corporate data to be highly secure
and manageable.
