Google+ has come out of field trial, opened to the masses and updated the Android Google+ app and mobile website.
New features of the app and mobile web include:
- Hangouts with video chat face-to-face-to-face.
- Improved SMS support to receive notifications, and respond to group messages via SMS.
- Improved +mentions support. To add someone in your circles to a conversation (or simply get their attention), you can now +[their name] inside a post or comment.
- +1’ing comments. When you read a great comment in the Stream, you can now +1 it directly from your iOS device
- Edit your profile photo.
- Customize your notifications. You can decide which notices you see (or not) on your phone.
- Install the Google+ app on SD storage on Android devices.
- Huddle has been changed to Messenger for sharing in group communication.
The new features were launched for Android and the mobile web today with an update to the iPhone iOS app coming soon.
