The Android Developers Blog has posted ways for developers to adapt to the next version of Android Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) which leads many to believe that it will be released soon.
The upcoming Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) release will support big screens, small screens, and everything in between. Developers are advised to adapt code to make apps either big screen compatible or run on smaller screens.

Ice Cream Sandwich is coming, and with it, handsets will be able to install apps built on Honeycomb. We haven’t released the ICS SDK just yet, but you can start preparing your Honeycomb apps by thinking about how they should work on smaller screens."
