The Droid Bionic is having quite a birthday party, it is already backordered by some online retailers and is getting great first impressions and reviews.
The price from Verizon Wireless for the Droid Bionic is $299. however new customers who trade in any kind of phone can get at least a $100 gift(more if the trade-in value is higher) with the online exclusive trade-in deal while current Verizon customers can only trade-in a basic phone for the $100 gift card.
Meanwhile, online retailer Amazon is selling the Droid Bionic for $179.99 for new customers with a contract or $249.99 for renewing customers. The Droid Bionic is backordered until tomorrow September 9.
The best deal for renewing customers as of this writing is if you have any kind of basic phone to trade-in to Verizon Wireless which will bring down the price to $199, you can not trade-in a smartphone if you are currently a Verizon Wireless customer.Wirefly claims their Droid Bionic price is "special" right now with a new Verizon account but it is not as good as either the online-only trade-in deal from Verizon Wireless or Amazon for new customers. If you don't have a trade-in you're best bet is Amazon Wireless. Wirefly notes that the Droid Bionic is Verizon's first 4G LTE smartphone with a dual-core 1GHz processor and 1GB of RAM.
Rumors suggest that Costco will be selling the Droid Bionic for $279.99 with a bundle of a standard dock, car dock, car charger and extra battery totalling $158 in value. The deal doesn't include the Webtop, HD station or Lapdock that will allow to use the Droid Bionic as computer, media player or other functions using the full Firefox browser Webtop app.
We are currently rounding up all the first impressions of the Droid Bionic and will review them all for you and digest/distill into a Review of Reviews.
Of course it would be nice, and the best deal if you could win a free Droid Bionic from Motorola following $#worththewait or by joining the Droid Does or DroidLanding scavenger hunt.
