Sony Xperia Play 4G Plays at AT&T for $49.99 on 9/18 Release Date

Sony Xperia PlaySome people like to play games on their smartphones but most smartphones lack the controls that a gaming device has.  Soon gamers on the AT&T network will have a smartphone with a gamepad-like controls.  The Xperia Play 4G will be relased on AT&T for $49.99 on September 18.

The Sony Xperia Play 4G is a PlayStation-certified gaming device and an Android smartphone. The 4G network is AT&T's HSPA+.

Features of the Sony Xperia Play 4G include Andriod 2.3.3 Gingerbread, 4"(480x854) touchscreen, 1GHz procesor, 5MP camera, VGA front camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and preloaded games.

Preloaded free games include:

  • Dungeon Defenders Second Wave by Trendy Entertainment.
  • Asphalt 6 Adrenaline by Gameloft.
  • Star Battalion by Gameloft.
  • Madden NFL 11 by Electronic Arts.
  • The Sims 3 by Electronic Arts.
  • Tower Bloxx: My City by Digital Chocolate.
  • Crash Bandicoot by SCEA/Naughty Dog/Universal.

AT&T has been aggressively reducing the price of it smartphones,  the dual-core LG Thrill 4G sells for $99 with a contract and received good reviews.
