There was a great concern in July, when Verizon Wireless discontinued unlimited data for its postpaid subscribers. Apparently, unlimited data from Verizon is not completely over. Fierce Wireless reported aht Verizon will unleash its unlimited "Unleashed" service across the United States.

Verizon Wireless launched its prepaid "Unleashed" service in Southern California and Florida in April for $50 per month for unlimited calling, texting and data.

Unfortunately, the Unleashed  service only works with prepaid Verizon feature phones - the LG Accolade ($39.99), LG Cosmos slide-out QWERTY candy bar phone ($99.99), and QWERTY-keyboarded Pantech Caper ($79.99).

We asked Verizon Wireless spokesman Ken Muche, if customers could activate any other Verizon smartphone such as an original Droid or phone for the Unleashed service and was told, "Unleashed service is only available for those three models of phones."

Verizon also offers per-day deals at $1.99 per day for unlimited talking to any number, with 2 cents per text and mobile Web browsing for 99 cents per day.  The other option is 99 cents per day for unlimited calling to Verizon phones or 10 cents per minute to other carriers, while texting costs 10 cents per message to other phones, and mobile web browsing costs 99 cents per day.
