New BlackBerry Torch 9380 Bold 9790 Specs Compete with iPhone & Android?

RIM and BlackBerry are encouraging developers and have revealed the specs of two of its forthcoming BlackBerry smartphones which may be called the BlackBerry Torch 9380 and BlackBerry Bold 9790.  The media comments on BlackBerry expectations in the future.  Videos follow.

The BlackBerry 9380 smartphone will feature a 360 x 480 all touch interface similar to the BlackBerry Torch 9800 smartphone builds will run on this new BlackBerry smartphone without change.

The BlackBerry 9790 smartphone will feature a 480 x 360 touch + keyboard interface. Application developers will either need to add touch support to their existing BlackBerry Bold 9700 smartphone apps, or modify their BlackBerry Torch 9800 smartphone builds to account for landscape being in a vertical orientation.

Developers can download the new BlackBerry 7 smartphone simulators.

Analysts are saying that the recent RIM BlackBerry outage may cause smartphone owners to switch to iPhone or Android. While another analyst said that the next generation of BlackBerry smartphones will be more consumer friendly.
