Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus Prime with 4G LTE Real Estate & 1st's

Samsung Galaxy Nexus Nexus PrimeVerizon Wireless is the first U.S. Carrier to announce and confirm that it carry the Samsung Galaxy Nexus aka Nexus Prime or Droid Prime. In a news release Verizon said that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be available later this year. Some suspect the released date may be as soon as November. Pricing is expected to be around $300.

There are many firsts for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus:

  • It is the first Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone(see features).
  • First 4.65" HD Super AMOLED touchscreen.
  • First Verizon smartphone with Android Beam to beam information to other smartphones.

  • 1.2 GHz dual-core TI OMAP4460  processor.
  •  5MP camera, 1.2MP front-facing camera,
  • Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and 1750 mAh Battery.
  • Connects to 4G LTE  or 3G.

Texas Instruments claims that its dual-core processors have the ability to provide hardware-integrated security, distinctive and advanced imaging features, enhanced memory and more, all on a smart multicore architecture.

A "pure Google" smartphone the Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be primed for new updates of Android faster.

    • We have too many pun makers around here. The word "prime" was being used as verb in the title. The never-ending changes of phone names makes the etymologists on staff play with words.

  1. It doesn't matter. What matters is that this will be the top of the line Android smartphone that will set the stage for future models to follow.
