Just when we thought that the HP TouchPad had finally died of natural causes and we would never see the bargain-of-the-year tablet again. The HP TouchPad reappeared for a very brief time on TigerDirect for $299 which would be reduced to $149 after a mail-in rebate. That didn't last very long even though the deal was slated until November 18, it is now unavailable and sold-out. There are still some HP TouchPad deals on the horizon but with a catch, you have to buy it with an HP computer.
TigerDirect still has some HP TouchPads left but you'll have to buy a HP laptop computer with it and send-in a mail-in rebate. Its part of of $799.99 bundle with a Turon II notebook computer minus $150 rebate the package totals $649.99. The TigerDirect stand-alone 32GB HP TouchPad rebate deal started on November 13 and sold-out within a day.
Meanwhile, if you prefer to get your HP TouchPad in stores, a leaked Black Friday circular for Office Depot which opens at 6:00am 11/25 shows "Buy any HP PC and get a 32 GB TouchPad tablet for $149.99" for two days only. We checked today and discovered that Walmart.com is still is offering an HP laptop computer and HP TouchPad for $149.99 with a choice of the three different HP laptop computers. We can't tell if these will still be left by Black Friday.

The latest survey from SodaHead, however shows that people prefer an iPad 2. According to their latest survey the clear winner on consumer's holiday wish lists is the Apple iPad2, as 65 percent of those wanting a tablet hope to receive the top-selling device on the market. The latest entrants in the tablet market from Amazon and Barnes & Noble have not yet made a significant impact, as only 24 percent of respondents are hoping to receive a Kindle Fire and a small 11 percent desire the recently announced Nook Tablet.
For a very brief time, webOS developers could nab a 32GB HP TouchPad for $149.99 with a special coupon. Best Buy bundled the HP TouchPad deal in stores and online which is now sold-out.
The HP TouchPad sold-out and flew off the shelves when it was reduced to $99 for 16 GB and $149 for 32 GB. A second run was sold-out to employees who spent the whole day ordering HP TouchPads with some complaining about the loss of work time.
HP has officially announced that they have no more TouchPads in stock while some retail stores may have some available. HP announced a new tablet the HP Slate 2 running Windows 7.
