There is now a whole clan of Droid smartphones in the Verizon Wireless family of cutting edge Android devices. The first Droid was released from Verizon Wireless two years ago on November 6, 2009. The main feature of the Droid line is a QWERTY keyboard.
Original Droid owners will be ready for an ungrade very soon. Currently the only 4G LTE smartphone with a keyboard is the Samsung Stratosphere and the next Droid, the Droid 4 may be worth waiting for.
The Droid 4 is destined to be the next Droid innovation and leaked photos reveal some interesting features. Of course, it has a 5 row keyboard with a separate number row. The most important addition is that the Droid 4 will support Verizon's 4G LTE network.
It shows a Webtop app suggesting it will work with Motorola LapDock 100 or 500. The Droid 4 looks super thin suggesting that it may that special Droid RAZR thinness. Android 2.3.5 is installed. There is a non-removable battery front-facing camera, HDMI out port and MotoACTV synching. It also contains Verizon software pre-installed.
It has not been confirmed what kind or the speed of the processor of the Droid 4, many believe it will an increased speed dual-core processor.
