Finally, HTC has announced the HTC Rezound (Vigor) at a press event in New York City. It will sell for $299 with a contract from Verizon Wireless starting November 14. The HTC Rezound will come with Beats audio enhancement by Dr. Dre and Beats earphones which retail for $120-180 when sold separately.
It will ship Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich ready. Those who were at the event are saying the superb Beats sound make the HTC Rezound a great contender vs the Droid RAZR and Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
It definitely "beats" the Samsung Galaxy Nexus to market because Verizon has not officially announced a release date for the Nexus although leaked documents suggest the Nexus will go on sale after Black Friday weekend. The Droid RAZR is thinner and due out on November 10 while the the Galaxy Nexus has Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with a huge 4.65" screen. Both the RAZR and Nexus have 1.2GHz dual-core processors.
The HTC Rezound's 720p HD display, which should make mincemeat out of qHD displays we've seen from phones like Droid Bionic noted CNET's Jessica Dolcourt.
The Android 2.3 interface is enhanced with HTC Sense.
