Last year, Wireless and Mobile News ran many articles highlighting all the best deals for Black Friday and Cyber Monday. In the past, we called Black Friday "BlackBerry Friday." For 2011 it may be Samsung Galaxy S II, Galaxy Nexus or Android an' Droid Friday with dual-core processors abounding for LTE and more on November 25 through November 28.
Of course, we will continue to inform our readers of the best top smartphone, tablet and cell phone deals for Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2011 as they happen. Closer to the dates we will name the top ten best deals of the season.
Update 11/23/2014 - the incredible Samsung Galaxy S5 for $1 deal is now live at Best Buy for Black Friday 2014. iPad Air 2 deals are coming and we suspect that will sell out quickly. T-Mobile started its deals. Virgin Mobile has cut prices, already. Verizon deals are on the horizon. AT&T has not announced its daily deals. However, Sprint has some new deals ready.
Before you get overwhelmed with shopping for the holidays we suggest some research first. Figure out what your gift recipient needs are before you start. You should also be sure to know the carrier and area of service. If you don't know the carrier be aware that prepaid smartphone make great gifts because they are not tied to contracts.
Release Dates to Watch for Black Friday through Cyber Monday
A few weeks before Black Friday, there are many major announcements for hot new smartphones, tablets, services and netbooks.
So far, we seen announcements for six new devices from T-Mobile, two 4G LTE smartphones from AT&T (Samsung Galaxy S II SkyRocket & HTC Vivid) and top of the line 4G LTE smartphones from Verizon Wireless including the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, HTC Rezound and Droid RAZR. Sprint has added the iPhone 4S to its lineup along with the Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch.
We don't expect any more surprises but there could be some tablets and eReader thrown into the mix. The next Nook Color tablet could had some fire to the completion of the Kindle Fire.
So what will be the best Black Friday /Cyber Monday deals?
We suspect the best deals will be family packages and buy-one-get-one free deals. Many contracts are up this time of year and the carriers want to keep your business. We will keep you posted on our Black Friday - Weekend -Cyber Monday Deals Page. Announcements are made about a week before. Some deals start on Thursday online and as you are digesting turkey, you can buy the best deals.
The most important feature to look for that was honored by Verizon Wireless in the past to ask the return policy. Sometimes carriers extend the return time from its customary 14 days to a few weeks after the holidays that give your gift recipient more time to return your gift and make decisions.
There will be also trade-in rebates for competing smartphones from a major smartphone makers. --especially for Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
