While the 4G LTE network for Verizon Wireless gets repaired, let's look at the news around one of the next 4G LTE Droids coming from Verizon Wireless the Droid 4 which some thought would be out today.
Motorola filed documents with the FCC on December 5, for what appears to be the Droid 4. Usually launch dates are three weeks to a month after FCC filings.
The FCC does shows filing of documents for 4G LTE smartphone for LTE band 13 and will slighter smaller than the Droid RAZR. The FCC documents show the apparently Droid 4 to have a 1785mAh battery and shows test results with "slider open". The spectrum bands supported include CDMA / EVDO (with GSM / EDGE / WCDMA which make it a world phone.
Expected release dates for the Droid 4 are rumored to be today to 12/22/2012. We suspect the Droid 4 will not launched until the network recovers from the outage.
The only other keyboarded smartphone for the Verizon 4G LTE network is the Samsung Stratosphere which got decent reviews, but many reviewers preferred a dual-core processor which the Droid 4 is suspected to have.
Recent sneak peeks of the Droid 4 comparison to the Droid RAZR showed it to have:
- 4"(qHD) touchscreen.
- 1.2GHz dual-core processor.
- 1GB RAM for fast UI.
