Leap Wireless announced that Cricket's first 4G LTE market will be Tucson Arizona and the first 4G LTE device will be the Huawei Boltz.
The data plans will be tiered not according to data use but speed. The faster plan (up to 6Mbps) will cost $60.00 a month for 5GB of data. The slower plan (up to 3Mbps) will cost $50.00 a month for 5GB of data.
At launch, 4G LTE service will be accessible via mobile broadband services and the Cricket's first 4G LTE device, the Huawei Boltz (E 397) modem priced at $149.99 MSRP in Cricket's company-owned stores.
Tuscon customers can select from two 4G LTE service plans each providing up to 5GB of data per month.
The Huawei Boltz, Cricket's first 4G LTE modem, features a hinge that pivots to any USB 2.0 configuration and a Micro SD slot for up to 32GB of additional memory storage. The Boltz is backwards compatible with Cricket 3G networks for use in non-4G Cricket markets.
The Blotz is compatible with Windows and Mac computers. Dimensions are Height 4", width 2.2", deep 0.60", and weighs 3.9oz.
Monthly Rate Plans:
- $50 Plan – 5GB of data with speeds up to 3Mbps.
- $60 Plan – 5GB of data with speeds up to 6Mbps.
