- Boost Mobile launched a Re-Boost Facebook app ask Facebook friends to buy time on Boost through Facebook or it can used to add time on Boost accounts. Re-Boost gifts can be sent, too.
- New Asurion research showed 32 percent of those 60-64 years old said a cell phone was their primary means of communication and that losing it "would cause tremendous disruption to my life." The Asurion survey also found that those between the ages of 50-54 viewed the cell phone as their main form of communication and that losing it would cause tremendous disruption.
- CTIA–The Wireless Association today issued a formal save-the-date for International CTIA WIRELESS 2012, the premier event for all things mobile, on May 8-10 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, La.
- Telscape will provide federal Lifeline wireless service to approved Bakersfield California residents; $2.50 per month for 300 minutes of air-time (talk/text). A free cell phone is also available to all that qualify for the program.
