At CES, Verizon Wireless revealed the first Super AMOLED Plus tablet the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 that will connect to the Verizon 4G LTE network. There are many good reasons for wanting to own it which use the superlative, "super" for the world's thinnest 4G LTE tablet.

Update 2/02/12: The latest benchmark tests show the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 to be faster than the Asus Transformer Prime, Galaxy Tab 10.1, original Tab 7 and Galaxy Nexus. The Asus Transformer Prime ranked better for gaming.
Super AMOLED Plus has been called gorgeous and many have noticed that the contrast is so good, that it is much easier to read. Friends have told us that they don't need to wear eyeglasses as often as they do with other screens. In the Super AMOLED (pentile) screen sub-pixels are shared, while with the Super AMOLED Plus subpixels are assigned to each individual pixel, creating a much better clearer picture. The case has a super metal feel to it.
The price for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7, however, has not be set yet for the Samsung Galaxy Tab prices are usually inline with the iPad 2 or more. The unlocked Wi-Fi version of it is selling for almost $700. For bargain hunters who don't need 4G LTE the most powerful Wi-Fi competitor will be the quad-core Asus Eee Pad Memo 370T that will be priced at $249.99. There are still some original Wi-Fi Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 inch tablets left from last year, that are selling for $99.99 with a contract from Verizon Wireless. These could sell out like the Motorola Xoom did after its price was reduced. The Kindle Fire for $199 has a dual-core processor, free Amazon Cloud storage and cloud accelerated mobile browser. Previously reviewed shortcomings of the Kindle Fire include it uses Android 2.3(not a tablet OS) and lacks Bluetooth, cellular data, a camera and GPS.

It will ship with Android 3.2 Honeycomb and hopefully be updated to Android 4.0, later.
Accessories available include keyboard dock, multimedia dock, USB/SD connection kit, HDTV adapter and Book Cover Case. The Galaxy Tab 7.7 measures 7.9 millimeters thin (less than half an inch) and weighs 340 grams (roughly 12 oz).

The data plans required for 4G LTE tablets on the Verizon network are $30 a month for 2GB, $50 a month for 5GB and $80 a month for 10GB.
