T-Mobile Saturday of Love & Free 4G Smartphones: Samsung Galaxy S II, Exhibit II, HTC Amaze and Nokia Lumia 700

Valentine's Day is supposed to be a day to show your love and of course carriers are making deals to entice you to buy new phones.  On Saturday, tomorrow, T-Mobile  is offering all its 4G smartphones for free with new two-year contracts of the classic plan.

The most amazing freebie is the Samsung Galaxy S II that normally sells for $229.99 and was named the top smartphone of the year.  Other top free smartphones are the super-camera HTC Amaze ($179.99) , Nokia Lumia 710 ($39.99) or Samsung Exhibit II 4G($49.99). The T-Mobile Springboard tablet which usually sells for $429 without a contract  is free with a new contract.

What's the hitch?  The deal does not apply to existing T-Mobile customers.  You have pay for the device upfront and then you get a rebate in the form of Visa card. The classic plan  can cost as much as $20 a month higher than the value plan.

The offer is valid February 11, 2012 at participating locations only. Taxes and fees are additional. Devices must be purchased and activated at the same time on the same account. Not all plans or features available on all devices. While supplies last.

For the device off you have to have credit approval, $35/line activation fee, mail-in rebate card, and new activation of a qualifying postpaid Classic plan on two-year contract (with up to $200/line early cancellation fee) required.

Activation of qualifying plan is required and  must remain active and in good standing at time rebate is processed. For mobile broadband devices, qualifying mobile broadband plan with EasyPay billing required. Limited to specific models; supplies may be limited.

Only three devices per customer. We reserve the right to substitute different models of equal or greater value. The rebate is in the form of a VISA card. Mail-in rebate not applicable in RI, CT or Miami-Dade County.

Coverage: Coverage not available everywhere. Abnormal Usage: Service may be slowed, suspended, terminated, or restricted for misuse, abnormal use, interference with our network or ability to provide quality service to other users, or significant roaming.

You can also find free 4G phones online.

The commercial says

“Nothing says “I love you” like a 4G smartphone from T-Mobile and even Cupid himself is looking forward to T-Mobile’s Valentine’s Day Sale where all smartphones and select mobile devices are free after mail-in rebate card when signing up for a new 2-yr contract on a qualifying Classic plan – even some of the best tablets”

  1. This promotion is bad. You must sign up for a 5gb data plans, even as T-Mob throttles-down speeds @ 2gb. And, this really makes me crazy as a +10-year customer, you must be in the 22nd month of a 24 month contract in order to be considered eligible.

Congrats, T-Mobile! Even though not acquired by AT&T, you've certainly acquired its operating principles for treatment of loyalty.

  2. It's a good promotion. You get an htc amaze or sg2 for free, and you can downgrade to 2gb plan after 6-8 weeks.
