It looks like 2012 may turn out to be the quad-core HD year for smartphones. While Samsung said it won't show any new models at MWC, LG's booth should be popular. LG is expected to debut a new quad-core superphone at Mobile World Congress, later this month.
The LG X3 (LG-P880) will r have a quad-core Tegra 3 processor (same as the Asus Transformer Prime), 4.7" HD touchscreen, 1GB RAM, 21Mpbs HSPA+and be 9 mm thin.
Other specs include of the the LG 3X include 8MP camera, 16GB storage onboard, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, 21mbps HSPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 2000mAh battery as well as NFC.
There are also rumors that the LG-P700 with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and possible slide-out QWERTY keyboard, will be announced too.
Last year LG debuted the LG Optimus 3D.
