What's coming up next in the Droid Star Wars saga of smartphones at Verizon Wireless?
All we have is leaked screenshot shows training scheduled for Droid Fighter on April 12 and the LG Cayman on March 29. The training session are usually about a week or so before the launch date.
Update 3/4/2012: A new leak suggest an April 12, 2012 release date.
Some think that the next Droid, the Droid Fighter could be the rumored HTC Fireball that looked like the Droid Incredible 3.
The name Droid Fighter comes from Star Wars Galaxies. According the Star Wars Galaxies Wiki "Droid Fighters, or "Vulture Droid" starfighters, are NPC droid ships found in the Endor System and other high-end star system zones. They are high-speed nimble ships which carry heavy firepower, and are usually tier 3-5.There are tier 1-2 variants in the Naboo system though."
From that description maybe the Droid Fighter will have high speed data access (4G LTE), be fast with a dual-core or higher processor and be nimble to use.
We figure that the Droid Fighter specs will include Android, touchscreen, Bluetooth, 5MP or better camera, 4G LTE access and maybe more.
What do you think the Droid Fighter will be like? Please add your ideas in the comments.
I just would like to point out that all new smartphones with Verizon are required to have 4G LTE data access... Also.. the other specs.. simply say that it's at least a smartphone. Android OS, of course, will come on a Droid phone. Touchscreen is something that's on all new droid phones, bluetooth is expected on all phones, and a 5mp camera or better leaves a lot of room to be desired. These specs only tell us that it's a smartphone that may or may not be a high-end phone or a low-end phone.
