Fidelity Investments announced that investors can make deposits directly to their Fidelity IRAs via the Fidelity App for iPad. The mobile deposit feature is part of a new update to the app available from the App Store.
All you have to do is take a picture of a check on the iPad camera and it can be deposited to Fidelity for deposit for Traditional or Roth IRAs, as well as into any non-retirement accounts. This could come in handy is anticipation of tax season when many investors wait for tax information before investing.
Fidelity claims it is the first major online brokerage firm to offer mobile check deposit through iPad.
Other features of the Fidelity iPad App include:
- The home screen shows a world map with quotes for key equity market indices, and the ability for eligible investors to turn on real-time streaming quotes, watchlists and news for a more timely experience.
- Research 10 popular technical indicators that can be overlaid on charts. You can watch three charts on-screen at once, and customize them for color, chart style and timeframe.
- Independent, third-party content from Zacks Investment Research, Recognia, FirstRain and Econoday.
- Come up with investing ideas by viewing what stocks Fidelity customers are trading most throughout the day.
- Heat mapping shows price movement in a customer’s portfolio and an interactive “click wheel” tool helps customers review balances from multiple accounts.
With Fidelity receiving approximately 45 percent of annual IRA contributions within the 28 days leading up to the April tax deadline, this new deposit feature gives investors an easy way to meet this savings deadline.
