New iPad Insanity News: Lines, 12:01am Buy Spots, Scalpers & Tips

Previously, our local Apple Genius told us that the Apple store would open at 10:00 am for new iPad insanity.  Then, we discovered that Apple has officially announced an 8:00 store opening time. That's why it called the same Apple insanity.

As we get closer to first day of sale of the new iPad, we have some new information to help you be one the first to get the new iPad (if you haven't already preordered one).

We have confirmed that carrier lines are usually shorter than Apple Store lines. However, if you want an Wi-Fi  new iPad, we don't know yet, if you will be able to buy those models at carrier stores.

But wait, Walmart stores will start selling the new iPad at 24 hour Walmart stores at 12:01 AM local time.  Then at 8:01 am all other Walmart stores will open.   The iPad 16GB Wi-Fi models will be available in black or white for $499. The iPad2 is currently priced at $399 at Walmart.

Call your local Apple store first, before line waiting or on the first day of sale. Sometimes the reps know how many iPad tablets will be stock giving you a rough estimate of odds of nabbing the new iPad.  In the past in major metros, by noon, the stock of iPads was depleted.

This year will be more interesting at Washington D.C. Store because demonstrators will demand Apple create a worker protection strategy to prevent workplace abuse, injury, and death, including how to keep workers safe during labor-intensive releases of new products like the iPad 3.

If you are a night owl at home, it's always a good idea to check carrier websites such as Verizon Wireless or AT&T to buy your iPad and get it delivered within a few days.

We have confirmed that Verizon Wireless will begin selling the new iPad online at 3:00 am EST and Verizon stores will open at 8:00 am across the country.

Currently the Verizon Wireless' 4G LTE version of the new iPad 4G Wi-Fi version offers mobile hotspots while the AT&T version may support the feature later.

Also we want to remind to be very careful after you leave the store with your new iPad.  Pack the iPad into something that doesn't label you an iPad buyer.  We would like to remind you that when the original iPad came out, there were many robberies.  In fact, one iPad buyer lost part of his finger when an iPad bag was ripped from his hand by a thief.

Yes, the insanity has already started someone in the U.K. is selling his place in line  or in the "queue" on eBay. On Craigslist San Jose will be selling his services to wait in line for $300.00.  There are also line squatter scaplers in New York City.
