We didn't need to take a survey to know that the iPhone 4S is really popular, but now even with great competition from Samsung and HTC, it is holding the top spot at every carrier where it is sold.
Some are calling the smartphone challenge a "two horse race" between Samsung and Apple. The winning horse, Apple, gets the big grand prize, a hefty share of the profits.
According to Canaccord Genuity, Apple accounted for 80 percent of the profits for the period while Apple and Samsung totalled 95 percent of profits.
The top three handsets by carrier for the month of March 2o12 were:
- Verizon- Apple iPhone 4S, Motorola RAZR/RAZR MAXX, and Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
- AT&T- Apple iPhone 4S, Samsung Galaxy S II, Samsung Galaxy Note.
- Sprint - Apple iPhone 4S, Samsung Galaxy S II, Apple iPhone 4.
- T-Mobile - Samsung Galaxy S II, HTC Amaze, Samsung Galaxy S Blaze.
