It's almost summertime in time to think about refreshing ice cream sandwiches. In the Android community, the tastiest treat is Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Samsung has finally let T-Mobile customers know which Samsung devices will be updated to ICS.
Here's what Samsung has promised to update on the T-Mobile network to Android 4.0 ICS:
- Samsung Galaxy S II.
- Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G.
- Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus.
- Galaxy Tab 10.1.
The good news is that in the past T-Mobile has been one of the first carriers to push out updates while AT&T and Verizon Wireless appear to be the slowest.
Last year, the Samsung Galaxy S series owners heard rumor of Froyo updates in November 2010. In January, the Samsung Vibrant from T-Mobile was the first to get the update, followed by Sprint's Samsung Epic 4G on 2/22/2011, AT&T Samsung Captivate was updated on 2/24 and Verizon Samsung Fascinate on 4/22/2011. The AT&T Captivate didn't get the update to Gingerbread until January 11, 2012.
Samsung Galaxy Note owners in Germany have gotten the update to ICS and many don't like it. The Samsung Galaxy S II LTE in Korea has gotten the update to Android 4.0 ICS. The testing by U.S. carriers seems to add many days to months to the upgrade process.
Starting with the Samsung Galaxy S III, Android ICS will come preloaded.
Samsung can go to Hellz for all I care anymore. Galaxy 10.1 tablet wi-fi to ICS.... Sure! Whatever... You said that 6 months ago... S-c-r-e-w Y-O-U!!! This company is the worst ever! The darn update has been ready, approved, tested and set forever! and they have NO REASON WHATSOEVER why they haven't released it yet... I posted on Samsung FB and TWITTER and got the following response "Sorry for the inconvenience. Thanks for your patience. We will let you know the moment it is released and ready."
They suck big time. I regret I did not have patience and buy Asus instead.
Please release ICS to Blaze 4G ASAP.. I just ordered mine and if I am NOT getting ICS I will return it to t-mobile!
honestly, i have the blaze and i dont care, cause i rooted it and have cyanogenmod on it so i dont need the official update haha
