Windows Phone is smoking out other smartphones at very high rate according to Ben Rudolf.
The Windows Phone smoke outs have tested over 50,000 competing smartphones including the CES challenge and $1000 Windows Phone Challenge. In 98% of the cases Windows Phone won the challenges that showed software and ease of use functions. To illustrate its wins Microsoft has posted more videos of Windows Phone smoke out tests.
The owners of other phones that were able to smoke out the Windows Phone received an HP Folio Ultrabook. The Windows Phones used in the challenges were not the latest Nokia Lumia 900 but Windows Phones available, during the test times, in March.
The phones smoked out include:
- iPhone 4S.
- Motorola Atrix.
- Samsung Capitvate.
- Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket
- Droid X.
- HTC EVO Shift.
- HTC EVO 3D.
- LG Thrill 4G.
- Samsung Galaxy S.
- HTC Sensation 4G.
- Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
- Samsung Galaxy S II.
- LG Optimus V.
Smoke out tasks included:
- Pocket-to-Picture-to-Post.
- Real-Time Information with Live Tiles.
- Using the People Hub to Stay in Touch with the People You Care About Most.
- Updating Your Status Across Multiple Social Networks.
- Local Scout .
The only winners at CES were a iPhone 4s (posted a picture to Twitter just a hair faster), Droid Bionic, (sent an SMS to a friend a smidge faster than PC Guy), and Galaxy Nexus (also posting a photo to Twitter). Note its is not clear if in these challenges if they were using the same Wi-Fi connection or cellular network.
This Windows Phone promotion is separate from the Smartphone Beta Test " is over promotions which claim that all other smartphones were "beta test" models compared to the Nokia Lumia 900 which had to go through some beta testing of network connections in April to the tune of a $100 credit.
