As Rodney King said during the L.A. riots, "Why can't we all get along?" the battles between high-tech companies continue. Yesterday, Apple was hitting hard in the courts against HTC and Samsung. HTC is being bullied by Apple and Microsoft. While Apple and Motorola can't beat each other in court.
HTC' Defends Closed Windows
In response to Apple's latest foray with the ITC against HTC, HTC claims it is innocent in infringing. "The U.S. Customs office has reviewed and approved HTC devices for import into the U.S., as they are in compliance with the ITC’s ruling,” HTC told Reuters.
Meanwhile, Microsoft is knocked HTC out of the ballpark. The company shut it HTC out of the Windows 8 tablet development. HTC reportedly wanted to develop a Windows tablet with a Sense UI on it. Some believe that it is not a slap in the tablet as Reuters reported, but inevitable because HTC previously reported that it was going to streamline. HTC currently makes many Windows Phones, therefore they know how to work with Microsoft.
And You're Out!
Federal judge, Richard Pozner canceled Apple's patent infringement trial against Motorola Mobility, on Thursday. The same judge on Wednesday, stopped another patent dispute Motorola brought again the iPhone-make. The judge rejected damage arguments for both parties that did not "prove injuries."
