Cricket Wireless is offering the BlackBerry Curve 9350 before the release of the iPhone 4/4S for $199.99.
The Cricket website that shows a web only discount of $70 off making it $129.99. However, the data shown for the $55 plan shows unlimited data backup and 3G mobile data at 1GB which is the limit before data is throttled to slower speed. An added benefit, in case of a disaster, the he BlackBerry Curve 9350 has CMAS that with important government weather and disaster alerts.
Cricket calls it a "value" smartphone. The BlackBerry Curve 9350 features an optical trackpad for easy, one-handed navigation. GPS, NFC (Near Field Communication) Wi-Fi and 5MP camera with flash and video recording, plus a microSD card slot for up to 32 GB of additional storage. The new Curve 9350 is Cricket's second BlackBerry smartphone and delivers the world-renowned BlackBerry email and messaging services, including BlackBerry Messenger (BBM), along with social apps and access to thousands of apps on BlackBerry App World.
The BlackBerry Curve 9350 is Cricket's first CMAS (Commercial Mobile Alert System) commercially available device, which means that customers will be able to receive "Critical Alerts" (i.e. Amber and Presidential type Alerts) via a SMS message to their phone.
