Samsung employees know how to keep secrets and also like debunk rumors. Samsung knows how to through a big party for introducing products and you can win a chance to be there on June 20. Samsung took to its blog to debunk rumors.
Samsung employees were sworn to secrecy and couldn't even tell family members what phone they were working on.
Here are the precautions Samsung engineers took when designing the Samsung Galaxy S III:
- Separate lab for this top-secret project.
- Prototypes were put in security boxes to be moved, even just across the hallway, to prevent passers-by from seeing them.
- Deliveries of prototypes to partners and suppliers abroad weren’t outsourced to 3rd party logistics services as is usual practice, but were done in person.
- People in charge had to do a multi-country tour just to deliver prototypes, and testing procedures were monitored day and night to make sure no leaks in security occurred.
- No photos permitted .
- Three different prototypes to avoid design leaks.
- Anytime a prototype went out for testing , it was put inside "dummy boxes."
As far as we can tell, we went back through our reports and could not find a leaked photo of the Samsung Galaxy S III most reports were speculations. Here's what was around in December 2011 regarding the Sasmung Galaxy S III:
- New quad-core processor, Exynos 4412.
- 4.6" 1280×720 Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen.
- 2GB of RAM.
- 12MP camera.
- Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
The actual specs in the United States turned out to be:
- 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor
- 4.8" Super AMOLED touchscreen.
- 2,048MB of RAM
- 8MP Camera
- Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
The specs were close because they were cutting edge and most people know Samsung was going to go with the latest specs. Apparently the U.S. versions of it could not use the quad-core processor like those in Europe because they have to support 4G LTE bandwidth.
Samsung is offering a promotions where you be put on the list to attend the "The Next Big Thing is Here" at Skylight Soho in New York City. You can enter a contest to be a guest at the party via the Samsung Mobile USA Facebook page. You must be at least 21 years-old to enter and a resident of the U.S.
Even though Samsung uses Facebook to promote events, it is not trying to create another Facebook. There were crazy rumors suggesting that Samsung would launch Facebook-like service which Samsung says is incorrect. "Family Story’ has been available since February 2012 on Samsung Smart TVs, Smartphones, Tablets and the web*. This service, like its name, is a family-oriented convergence service that focuses on sharing and storing families’ special moments. The company is in the process of upgrading the service.
The Samsung Galaxy S III is due to released by some carriers on June 21, other carriers have not announced dates, yet while taking preorders. It received excellent reviews around the world.
