AT&T Share Data Buckets vs Verizon's Share Everything - How Keep Unlimited Data

By Lynn Walford 07/19/2012 Tweet

AT&T Share Data Buckets vs Verizons Share Everything How Keep Unlimited DataAT&T Wireless announced its AT&T Mobile Share plans, available in late August with no changes to AT&T’s device upgrade policy.

When the plan was announced, it was immediately compared to Verizon Wireless' share everything plans.  The main differences are that AT&T will continue to subsidize device prices with all its plans when there is a new contract and a slightly different data prices when buying large amounts of data.

Verizon  Wirless is no longer subsidising new smartphones with unlimited plans while, AT&T  allows you keep your unlimited data plan as long a you like, but does throttle data for the heaviest users. Read how to keep your Verizon Wireless unlimited plan.

AT&T showed a price comparison of present plans versus new plans which equaled about $5 saving on some plans over others.  Each data plan also includes access to more than 30,000 AT&T Wi-Fi Hot Spots which could help save on a little bit of data.  Both carriers include unlimited voice minutes, unlimited text messages and shared data for smartphones.  AT&T, however offers unlimited text and voice for basic or quick messaging phones.

Anything over 10GB of data Verizon charges $10 per 1GB therefore data hogs and those using over 6GB will get a slightly better deal with Verizon Wireless (see chart below). However AT&T reduces the cost per smartphone for more GB which pretty much washes the GB savings.

With AT&T Mobile Share plans, customers start by choosing how much data they want each month, then choose up to 10 devices to attach to their shared plan

To help customers track their data usage, AT&T keeps users informed with courtesy alerts as they near their data allowance for the month. Also, customers can check their usage at anytime online, through the myAT&T mobile app, or by calling *DATA# from their mobile phone.

if you are looking for a good deal for switching to AT&T we do have a special $50 Off Coupon Link AT&T Wireless for new customers with a plan.
