Free Cell Phones for Low Income, Soldiers & Military Families/Veterans Free Minutes & How 2 Honor ThemIn honor of the Fourth of July weekend we would like to honor our military and veterans by showing how you can support them and how they can get free cell phones as well as calling time minutes.  Low-income families of military personnel may also quality for free cell phones.

Some veterans who are batting the job market to get back to work may qualify for free low-income subsidized cell phones from  Assurance Wireless.

Those who are not in the military who want to help can send used cell phones to Cell Phones for Soldiers, a non-profit organization that provides pre-paid calling cards and free phone services to deployed and returning military members.

Kyocera-has donated almost 14,000 minutes of free calling minutes for the troops before Independence Day.  Hard Rock Cafés in Las Vegas in July are  holding a cell phone drives for soldiers.  Each Cafe is stocked with donation bins and envelopes to donate cell phones to Cell Phones for Soldiers.  Official Cell Phones for Soldiers Website.

Assurance Wireless reported that for veterans going through tough financial times, or struggling to find a job in several states, Assurance Wireless is a smart, free way to increase the odds of securing employment. Customers may also choose to pay for additional services as needed.

Assurance Wireless is a Lifeline Assistance program supported by the federal Universal Service Fund offers free wireless phone, 250 free monthly minutes of national local and long-distance service and 250 free monthly text messages for eligible customers, Assurance Wireless gives veterans the ability to provide a contact number and return calls to prospective employers which, studies show, can improve the chances of securing employment.

Assurance Wireless is currently available in 34 states including Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Washington D.C., Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
