The Amazon Kindle Fire tablet was the top holiday seller at Amazon, last year. Amazon has some more tablets up its sleeves and an announcement event next week on September 6, in Santa Monica, we will be there. We are happy to discover that finally there's a big tech event in Los Angeles.
"The Kindle Fire is sold out, but we have an exciting roadmap ahead," Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos said in a statement. "We will continue to offer our customers the best hardware, the best prices, the best customer service, the best cross-platform interoperability, and the best content ecosystem."
The weird thing about the sell-out is that Tech for Less, today sent us an email stating that the Kindle Fire would be on a "Fire Sale" for $169.99, with a notices stating that quantities were limited. It shows it as "Labor Day Deals." The deals end September 6. Labor Day deals Tech For Less. Free Shipping on most. When we checked there were not Kindle Fire tablets. We can't tell if they sold-out or not put on sale, yet. They were already closed by the time, we called.
The Archos 7 Tablet was listed for $68.97 and was refurbished and still in stock. Tech for Less also has an NEC 32" widescreen monitor for $276.49 refburbished. The Kindle Fire Deal was probably for refurbished also.
It looks like the word is already out that there are no more Kindle Fire tablets to be had online. There appear to be a few refurbished models left on eBay. We checked at some of our other favorite online discounters and didn't find any.
BestBuy.comshows the Kindle Fire in Best Buy stores for $179.99 with it unavailable in most stores, we checked. There was some left in stores in Huntsville, Alabama, Baton Rouge Louisiana , Austin Texas, Springfield Ohio and other places, you'll have check for your town. Be sure to call first, because the stock may be a display model that you don't want to buy. See Labor Day sale items at BestBuy.
The best deal on pre-owned Kindle Fire tablets is at CowBoom starting at $129.99 with free shipping with at least one in stock. CowBoom will give you $5.00 off your first purchase of $50 use coupon code CowBoom5
BestBuy clearance had drastic mark downs on Galaxy Tab and Transformer tablets but not the Kindle Fire.
OfficeDepot.com is showing Kindle Fire in stock at full price with 2-3 in stock at our local stores.
Please let us know via the comments below if you have found Kindle Fire tablets any where, especially if the price is reduced.
Our advice. The bar has been raised by the Nexus 7 with lots of power for $199.99. The holiday season is approaching, Amazon will have another tablet out with more features for around the same price. By December, people will be unloading the original Kindle Fire and you will be able to get a great deal. There will probably be more Kinde Fire refurbished unit coming out, too.
Amazon has filed a patent for a two-sided tablet with one side LCD and the back with an E-Ink screen for easy book reading. We'll know better on September 5, until then enjoy your weekend.
The best firesale ever was when they blew out the HP ToucPads 10" for $100. They were gone within hours. $100 is the right price for a 10" tablet. One Drop and you are a gonner
If you don't need a tablet now wait, I agree there's going to be some really good deals at Christmas time. Then even better deals after Christmas.
I keep the Kindle Fire for my kids and the Amazon Prime video service. It's a good deal and I'm not worried that they are going to break it. The iPad is too expensive to be a kid's toy.

Hi,
I work at Tech For Less (I am the affiliate representative for them). I wanted to let you know that we never actually put the Kindle Fire on our FireSale, it actually is part of the Labor Day Deal, thanks for mentioning by the way. The last time I checked we still had 3 in stock. you can click on our specials tab at the top of our website and you will see the "Click for special deals on Tablets"
Hope that helps.
