Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Review of News Creative Buzd, Celeb Mishap & Beats iPadSamsung in its Galaxy Note series, is giving creative people a whole new way of working. It is especially useful for combining media such as writing a handwritten note on top of an image or combining media. The S Pen features and price point may help it  beat the iPad.

Samsung during the Olympics had celebrity creatives work with the Samsung Galaxy Note and S III.  For the opening ceremonies, film directory, Marin Green, Head of Ceremonies as well as participants in the ceremonies used the the Samsung Galaxy Note. The Samsung Galaxy Note was used to create the world's largest comic drawing and by elephants.

The new Galaxy Note 10.1 is being used by movie magician Baz Luhrmann to communicate concept to crew and his design partner/wife. Luhrmann says that it has changed his work process, and his life. He calls it practical and a creative toolbox for taking snips of images  and photos .  He also uses share the same image co-creators  and he has to pry it out of his children's hands.

Luhrmann  shows how he uses the GALAXY Note 10.1 for creating film storyboards and sketches, and collaboration. Because the Galaxy Note 10.1 has the multiscreen feature, he can multitask watching film cuts and taking notes all on one screen.

The Galaxy Note was officially launched in the US on Aug 15th in NYC. Many celebrities were on hand, handling the Note 10.1.   There was minor slip-up with Sports Illustrated model Kate Upton was shown oh Knotty Celebes in a shot that  shows her white iPhone next to her gold handbag. A Galaxy Note phablet or the iPhone would have fit in the gold purse.

In a video showing the launch event, the ending quote of the launch video states' "It's a device that's not just changing the game. Right? Some will say, it's life changing." responded with resounding applause.

In the meantime, IHS iSuppli has taken apart the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 to reveal that the 4G model costs $283 in materials and the Wi-Fi only model costs $270 in materials which makes it more profitable for Samsung.  This also makes it possible for Samsung to discount the Note in the future. If you wait a few months, the price may drop in time for the holidays. That's if Samsung can afford the price drop after it pays off the Apple patent infringement settlement.
