Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1Samsung announced the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 at an event in New York City, today. It will go on sale tomorrow for $499.99 for the 16GB model and $549 for 32GB model.  It kind of like a huge Galaxy Note with some Samsung Galaxy S III features.

Samsung is continuing what it started with its other products getting placement with top celebrities sporting their products. At the event fashion designer Zac Posen, and writer, producer, director Baz Luhrmann showed how they use the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1

The S Pen is based on Wacom's pressure sensitive tablet technology with 1024 levels of sensitivity.

A new video shows off some of the features after we list the main features first:

  • Multiscreen allows for dual screens at once. Apps supported for Multiscreen are S Note, Internet Browser, Video Player, Email, Gallery and Polaris Office . S Pen, Learning Hub. In learning hub you take notes while writing on the screen.
  • Mini-apps tray that can launch a selection of mini-app on top of others apps and moved around the screen. These include Alarm, S Note, Music Player, Email, Calculator, World Clock.
  • Adobe Photoshop Touch allows for quickly cutting out a person and then changing the background. Files can be synched to the Creative Cloud and opened in Photoshop on the desktop or laptop for further refinement. Live video list to find what you looking for.
  • Pop Up Play play videos in a floating window anywhere on the screen.
  • AllShare Play show your Note 10.1 screen on a Samsung Galaxy S III  or TV.
  • Samsung apps include Samsung Music, Game and Media Hubs. Smart Remote the channel changing app for TVs.
  • Free two-year subscription to Dropbox, giving users 50 GB of storage space($100).

The handwriting recognition on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is very good. We started using the Samsung Galaxy Note phablet for text entry a few weeks ago with the goal of writing and entire article on it and publishing it. Samsung has sold over 10 million Samsung Galaxy Note phablets.

It will be sold at major retail outlets. Available accessories include replacement S Pen, S Pen Holder Kit, Book Cover in Grey or White, Travel Charger, USB Connection Kit to allow usage of thumb drives or USB peripherals, HDMI adapter and Universal Desktop Dock.

Meanwhile, WalMart icon is selling refurbished Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablets for as low as $249.99.
